Brenda Ravenscroft, Dean, Schulich School of Music. For this shot we lit the Dean with an orange-gelled flash, but told the camera that the orange tone was normal. This made everything not lit by the flash (i.e. the background) appear quite blue.

I love this photo. Émilie Groulx-Boivin is a student in McGill's Faculty of Medicine. But I think she looks like a Russian spy. Principal Suzanne Fortier, September 2018. She is hyper-competent, focused and consistently gracious. But she's not a big smile-for-the-camera person, which suits me fine. This is a genuine human facial expression, and I'm pleased with this photo.
Alistair Chan was photographed in the summer of 2018 next to the Lachine Canal. He was working on a PhD in Renewable Resources, and was featured in a McGill publication about the McConnell Challenge Fund, which matches philanthropic gifts made to the University.
